Paris
Location: Paris.
Timeline: Three days.
Worth it: Absolutely.
Plan in place: None at all.
Paris without a doubt lingers as a place I yearn to go back and visit but hopefully with weather that is a bit warmer, and with a little more time. When I visited with Niki, it was the day before the New Year. I wanted to experience something new, while bringing in the New Year. Being that we have never been to Paris before I figured it was the perfect place to achieve that.
Marked by its unique corridors, beautiful buildings, and cafes on every corner I was truly impressed. The goal was simple, walk and explore every corner that we could with our limited time. One thing I got wrong though however, was the mere fact that city is much larger than it looks on the maps. On both days we walked more than 20km and it felt that we only touched the surface.
The city has character, and it is something I implore you to go and find out for yourself.
For now, I’ll list my two favorite moments. The first was Niki and I’s cafe visit, a few coffees later it felt like we had watched the whole of Paris go by. Entertained by the different people we saw, some in a rush while others walked their dog.
Next up, was a final lunch the day before we left by the riveria. A simple baguette along with some deli meats, with some sparkling water to quench our thirst. We had found a simple spot, and once again found ourselves watching the world go by. No phones, no social media, just the moment with good food, and a wonderful person to share it with.
While I could go on and on about the experience itself, I hope this little blurb encourages you to go yourself and make it your own experience.
The world is yours.
Embrace the Unknown.
